DAY 1: TANGIER – CHEFCHAOUEN – FEZ

During the first day of your Tangier to merzouga desert, we will cross the Rif mountains and the city of Tetoun to enjoy the view of the beautiful mountains until we arrive at Chefchaouen, one of the impressive villages on the feet. From the mountains of the Rif to the Medina of Chefchaouen, it had a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky shops and craft shops, the rooftop – the best restaurants and cafes, where you will have lunch before continuing your way to Fez, where we will spend your night.

DAY 2: FEZ – IFRANE – MIDELT – GORGES OF ZIZ – ERFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA

Breakfast and greets towards the south of Ifrane and Azrou through the mountains of the Middle Atlas. On the way we will stop in the cedar forests to see the barbarian apes in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent gorges of the Ziz carved in volcanic rock, you will see views of the Middle Plateau -Atlas and the landscape changes to reveal desert tracks as you approach the town of Errachidia.

After lunch we will continue our journey through the Ziz Valley towards Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After a mint tea, we will leave our luggage in a safe room and then take a camel ride to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes which are the highest sand dunes in North Africa.

The camel ride takes about an hour and a half from the camp where we will install Berber tents for our night in the desert. The stores are well equipped with mattresses, blankets and cushions. After dinner, we will gather around the fire and enjoy the sound of traditional Berber drums under the stars.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – GORGES OF TODRA – THE GORGES OF DADES

Set your alarm to wake up early this morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the dunes! It is a moment not to be missed. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious breakfast before we continue our adventure by car to the city of Rissani, the former capital of the Alawite Sultans. Rissani was once an important market for caravans traveling the sub-Saharan region, and it is still an impressive market to visit today.

We will take a walk through the local market and traditional souk. This is a wonderful destination for those who wish to learn some of the history of the country, later on we will stop in Tinjdad, where we will have lunch. We will continue on the road along the river until we reach the Gorges, where we will stop and walk through this magnificent natural structure with its incredibly high rock walls (up to 300 meters). This stunning place has been featured in many films. Later, we will pass through the Boumalne Du Dades, and there will be time to explore its rock formations often compared to human figures and monkey’s fingers. You will stay overnight in an authentic Moroccan riad, including bed and breakfast.

DAY 4: DADES GORGES – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAIN – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we will cross the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The visit of the Dades Valley, the thousand kasbah trail, offers many opportunities to take pictures. We will visit the valley of roses and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch is at the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After visiting this UNESCO World Heritage Site, our journey will continue along the majestic Tizi Ntichka Pass, which rises to an altitude of 2260m above the High Atlas Mountains. We will make a stop to enjoy the breathtaking views and visit the argan oil cooperative. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
