DAY 1: MARRAKECH to ZAGORA
Pick-up will take place at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, where your marrakech to zagora starts, you will drive across the High Atlas Mountains, sub-range of Moroccan Atlas mountains, going through Tizi N Tichka port and reach an altitude of 2260 m (7414.698ft) with stops for panoramic views and taking pictures of the Berber small villages that camouflage in the landscape.
Then you will continue passing through the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) which is known by its cinema studios where you will stop for a lunch at leisure.
Continue to the oasis of Agdez, before driving through the date and palm trees of the Draa Valley. And see the fortified Kasbahs along the way. Upon arrival at Zagora, meet your camel caravan for a 1-hour camel ride over the sand dunes.
Watch the stunning sunset in the desert sands as it disappears below the horizon. After that, transfer to your Berber Camp where you will enjoy a welcoming tea.
You will stay in your private tent, and enjoy some time at leisure to explore the surrounding desert scenery.
Dinner will be served under the stars or in a restaurant, while your nomad hosts will provide the entertainment around a camp fire with the beat of their drums, Jambi and metal castanets.
DAY 2: ZAGORA – DRAA VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
Early morning, you will wake up to experience the magic of the desert sunrise. Then, enjoy your breakfast before getting back into camel for the ride back to the start point of the drive again.
Here, your 4×4 or mini-bus will be waiting to take you on a scenic drive to the world heritage Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penelope Cruz… Instantly recognizable as the setting of various Hollywood epics, it’s also a popular backdrop for photo shoots with international fashion magazines and agencies.
You will walk to the Kasbah to explore its building and history and will be an opportunity for you to take some beautiful picture from the top hill location of the Kasbah. Free time for lunch in the same village.
After that, your 2-days Marrakech to Zagora will comes to end we will drive back to Marrakech and Drop off at your hotel or riad.
